A 10-Month Prayer Answered: A Sewing Machine, Leggings and a College Bag for a Family in Need

For the past ten months, a needy family in Hyderabad had been quietly, patiently asking Smile With Shine Welfare Society for one thing — a sewing machine. Not for a wedding. Not for a gift. For a livelihood. Something they could set up at home and use to earn a modest, steady income for a family that had almost run out of options.

We could not fulfil their request for a long time. It weighed on us. Every visit to the family, every phone call, every home follow-up carried that unfinished promise with it. Today, by the grace of God and with the generous support of our sponsors, we were finally able to deliver that sewing machine — and much more — to the family.

The Family We Are Standing With

Behind every request is a story, and this one is heavier than most. This family has been walking a very difficult road:

• The father is a cancer patient, which means the family’s ability to earn is already severely limited.
• The daughter is differently-abled and depends on the family for daily care and mobility.
• The son is a college-going student, trying to continue his education even as the family’s finances tighten around him.
• The mother is doing everything she can to hold the household together with dignity — including, now, taking on tailoring work at home.
